Funding Options

We believe in transparency to help you plan your care. This section outlines the various funding pathways available to make your sessions with Connected Therapy sustainable and accessible.

NDIS Support
Medicare Plan

We welcome self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Our therapy focuses on building the practical skills and functional independence required to meet your specific NDIS plan goals.

Rebates are available for sessions with Amy (Psychologist) when you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Private Cover
Assessment support

Most private health insurers offer rebates for mental health. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm if your specific policy covers sessions with a Psychologist or Social Worker.

Securing a formal referral from your paediatrician or child psychiatrist can often assist with the costs of neurodevelopmental checks. We recommend chatting with your GP about your rebate options before booking.

Our Fees

Amy — Psychologist

$245 per session. Tailored psychological therapy and assessments for your unique perspective.

Ella — Social Worker

$195 per session. Neuro-affirming social work and counselling focused on practical wellbeing goals.

Common Questions

What can I expect in my initial appointments?

In your first sessions, we focus on warmly getting to know you and your child. We’ll discuss history and goals to work together on mapping out a clear assessment pathway for our next steps forward.

How can I prepare my child for their first appointment?

We recommend a simple, honest explanation of who they will meet and the activities they might engage in. Our team is highly experienced in supporting neurodivergent children, ensuring the environment remains predictable and safe.

You are welcome to bring comfort items from home, and arriving a little early allows your child to settle. We prioritise their sense of autonomy throughout the session.

What if my child is worried about coming to their appointment?

Nervousness is very common. We work closely with families to find the most comfortable way to begin, often meeting with parents first to discuss how to best support children who may feel anxious.

Can I stay in the room with my child?

Absolutely. You are welcome to stay as long as it feels right. We create a collaborative environment that ensures neurodivergent children feel safe and affirm their natural way of engaging during any assessment pathway.

Can I book without a GP?

Yes, you can self-refer at any time. However, to access Medicare rebates, you will need a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan provided before or during the first appointment.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

We offer secure telehealth where clinically appropriate: Connect from your own familiar environment, maintain high-quality standards for care and assessment, and ensure suitability is discussed individually with your clinician.

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is processed on the day of your session. Our payment pathways include direct invoicing for NDIS plan-managed clients, upfront payment for self-managed or private clients, and rebates claimed independently after payment.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions take place in our comfortable Port Macquarie clinic or via telehealth. Both options provide the same professional standard of care, customised to your unique sensory and practical needs.

Where are we located?

We are centrally located at 1/139 Lake Road, Port Macquarie. You’ll find us in the second building down the driveway within the Complex Care Collaborative building. Ample parking is available behind the building.
